Whitley, Director swhitley@CovHlth.com House Location N 35 Degrees 57.470 W 083 Degrees 56.137	Fellowship Center was begun in 1984, through the generosity of the Fort Sanders Hospital Auxiliary, with a 4 apartment building located next to Fort Sanders Hospital. In 1993, the facility was expanded to 18 apartments. Plans are underway to acquire addtional buildings and double the Center's capabilities in 2002. Today Fellowship Center serves all Knoxville Hospitals and accommodates over 1000 guests per year. Typically, chemotherapy patients and their families use the facility, but those undergoing stroke rehabilitation, clinical trials, radiation therapy and other medical care use the facility. In the summer of 2001, VISION 2013-HHH partnership program director, Brother Don Jones, began state wide fund raising activities seeking donations for Tennessee's Hospital Hospitality Houses. By November 2001, enough money had been contributed (mostly by West Tennessee Lodges) that at its meeting on November 17, the VISION 2013 Steering Committee voted to donate $2,013.00 to this and the Oak Ridge HHH (see below). On November 27, Grand Master Esco Owens, District 20 Chairman Brother Bart Iddins, District 18 Chairman Brother Herbert H. Greene and GMWP Director Brother Tom Boduch visited the facility and presented the donation check. Shown in the photo at right (from left to right) are Brother Herbert Greene, Facility Coordinator Wanda Witt, Facility Director Sarah Whitley, Grand Master Esco Owens and Brother Bart Iddins. The map in the background has numerous stick pins, indicating the homes of Fellowship Center guests. OAK RIDGE Hospitality House of Methodist Hospital Foundation 210 West Tennessee Avenue Oak Ridge, TN 37830 865-481-5923 Jenny Edgar, Director jedgar@CovHlth.com House Location N 36 Degrees 01.450 W 084 Degrees 14.911	Methodist Hospital Hospitality House opened its doors on January 27, 1997, and has hosted over 1,200 individuals to date from 26 States and England. The facility is located in an old 4-plex (E1 and E2 Oak Ridge housing) which had been purchased by Methodist Medical Center. The facility can host 4 families. Plans are underway to expand the facility to include 2 neighboring 4-plexes. Masonic assistance to this facility was begun by Brother John R. Craig (deceased 6/01) assisted by his son, Brother Stewart O. Craig , both members of Faith Lodge #756 (Oak Ridge). Faith Lodge has conducted several fund raising activities and donated volunteer labor for this HHH. Other Lodges and Masonic bodies are assisting as well. In 2001, Faith Lodge committed to raise a $10,000 donation for this facility; the donation was made by October 2003 . Groups contributing this sum of money are considered room sponsors--a plaque will be placed on the door of the room indicating the sponsor. On December 4, 2001 Grand Master Esco Owens, District 20 Chairman Brother Bart Iddins, District 18 Chairman Brother Herbert H. Greene, Anderson County Chairman Brother Ed Bishop, Brother Stewart O. Craig, Faith Lodge #756 Worshipful Master Brother Danny Bush and GMWP Director Brother Tom Boduch visited the facility and presented a donation of $2,013.00 from VISION 2013 fundraising efforts (see above) and a check for $250.00 donated by Union Lodge #38 (Kingston). On November 26, 2002, another donation of $2,013.00 was presented to this house. Brother Don Jones (at left in photo at left) was present. On November 28, 2003, another $2,013.00 donation was presented representing money raised state wide by Brother Don Jones; this donation included a collection taken up at the Grand Lodge session in March. Tennessee Masons were recognized along with other donors and volunteers by this house at a meeting held in July 2003. Representing our Fraternity were Past Grand Master (and Grand Treasurer) M. W. Brother Tom Hager, Grand Secretary R. W. Brother Ronnie Johnson, Vision 2013 coordinator Brother Alan Smith and Brother Tom Boduch. On November 12, 2003 another $2,013 donation was presented to this house. Shown in the photo at left are Junior Grand Warden R. W. Brother Vaughn also presented $200 that had been donated by several local area Lodges and $498 from sales of HHH pins. BRISTOL McGlothlin Street Hospitality House 366 Steeles Road Bristol, TN 37620 423 246 4217 Lisa Leonard, Director	The McGlothlin Street Hospitality House is approximately 6 years old and offers 12 guest rooms. Each guest room is equipped with 2 double beds, a sitting area with a table and 2 chairs, and it's own private bathroom. 4 of the guestrooms were specifically designed to be wheelchair accessible. There is a large, fully equipped double kitchen (2 sets of sinks, stoves, refrigerators, counter space, microwave units, counter space, etc.). The kitchen is stocked with cutlery, dishes, pots, pans, etc. for our guests to use. There is a large living room area and a large dining area. The dining area is equipped with 6 family style tables, with 4 chairs per table, easily accommodating 24 people simultaneously. There is guest laundry area which contains 2 washers and 2 dryers, and is free for our guests to use. Approximately 200 families per month stay at the Hospitality House. About half of those families pay nothing to stay. On November 12, a $2,013.00 donation was presented to this house by Past Grand Master Bruce Austin and Grand Pursuivant Brother Gary Coates. MAURY REGIONAL HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION FURNISHES HOME FOR BREAST CANCER PATIENTS The Retreat, a hospitality house for breast cancer patients funded by the Maury Regional Healthcare Foundation, is expected to begin serving patients on March 12, according to Dr. Eslick Daniel, foundation chairman. The Retreat, located at 1206 Trotwood Avenue, will provide a comfortable environment where women undergoing Mammosite ® radiation therapy for breast cancer to stay between their treatments. Mammosite ® radiation therapy offers internally administered radiation to targeted breast tissue in a five-day course of therapy with treatments being given twice each day. During the lumpectomy procedure, the surgeon places a balloon in the tumor cavity. Once in place, the balloon is inflated with saline. The patient returns to the Cancer Center twice a day for treatment on an outpatient basis where a radioactive “seed” is inserted within the inflated balloon. Dr. John Brown, a surgeon on the medical staff, approached the foundation about providing a place for women to stay after the hospital began utilizing this new intensive therapy and the foundation board chose this as one of its first projects. The foundation launched the project by designating $4,000 for furnishings. Additional donations have been received from Jones Home Furnishings, Alexander’s Mattress World, and Helm’s Jewelry. Donations by individuals will be used to provide drinks and snacks for the patients between treatments.  Plans are to extend the services to other cancer treatment patients as donations enable the foundation to refurbish the upstairs of the home.  Donations may be sent to: The Retreat Fund, Maury Regional Healthcare Foundation, 1224 Trotwood Avenue, Columbia, Tennessee 38401.
