David A White Sr

Born December 4, 1949 in Carthage Tennessee to Albert Mitchell and Marie Randolph White. David attended the Public Schools of Metro-Davisson County and graduated from East High School in 1968. Following High School he served with the U.S. Army as an enlisted member
of the 5th Battalion, 7th Calvary, 1st Calvary Division in the Republic of Vietnam.

David returned to Nashville, following his tour with the army in 1971 where he joined the
Nashville-Metro Police Department and served in the Patrol Division, Community Relations, Traffic Accident Investigations, and as a motorcycle officer. While employed as a Police Officer, he received his Associate Degree in Science from Aquinas Jr. College in 1976 and his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Belmont University in 1979. Following his fourteen years as a police officer, he was employed at the Textron Aerostructures facility in Nashville for an additional 14 years. During his career he served the Tennessee Army National Guard, retiring in 1978 as Captain.

David relocated to Memphis TN in 2002 when he married Maureen Thoni White. Maureen is retired from Holliday Fashions of Memphis as Visual Display Director. David has two sons, David Jr. and Daniel White. David Jr. is a Licensed and ordained Minister. Daniel is currently Eminent Commander of Ivanhoe No. 18 Commandery, Jonesboro Arkansas.

Bro. David’s Masonic journey began with McWhirtersville Lodge No. 375, Donelson, TN, by being passed the sublime degree of Master Mason in February 1976 and serving as Worshipful Master in 1999. After moving to Memphis, he affiliated as a Plural member in Germantown Lodge No. 95, which eventually became Unity Lodge No. 95. Also affiliating with University No. 722 and serving as Secretary. David is a member of the Middle TN Past Masters Association, West TN Past Masters Association, and Masonic Veteran’s Association of Tennessee.

Companion David was exalted a Royal Arch Mason in Donelson Chapter No. 234, R.A.M. in March 1976. He served as Excellent High Priest in 1995 and received the Order of the High Priesthood in 1996. He was Greeted a Select Master in Nashville Council No. 1, C.M. in May 1976. He served as Illustrious Master in 1995 and received the Order of the Silver Trowel in 1996

Sir Knight David’s entry into the Chivalric orders began by his knighting, March 1980, in
Nashville Commandery No. 1, K. T. He served as Eminent Commander for the year 1991 and received the order of Knight Crusaders of the Cross in 1992. He served as Eminent Grand Warder, the Grand Commandery of Tennessee for 1994. Upon moving to Memphis plural membership with the Memphis York Rite bodies was attained and served as Recorder and now currently a plural member of Rosemark York Rite Bodies and with Nashville bodies.

David’s additional York Rite affiliations include the Memphis Asylum No.1 Knight Commanders;
Secretary of Memphis York Rite Association; Life Member of Middle TN York Rite Association; Tralee Council No. 41, Knight Masons; West Tennessee York Rite College No. 141; Tennessee Priory No. 15, Knight York Cross of Honor; and Secretary of Emerald Isle No. 346, Allied Masonic Degrees.

Sir Knight. David received his degrees of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite at Nashville in
1994 and later transferring his membership to the Memphis Valley. He was the recipient of Knight Commander Court of Honor in 2008.

David traveled the “Hot Sands” at Al Menah Shrine in 1980 at Nashville. He is also a plural
member at Al Chymia shrine at Memphis and is currently serving as Chaplain and a Life Member of the Past Masters Association of Al Chymia.

Sir Knight David’s membership into the various Masonic bodies include Andrew Jackson M.I.P.
Chapter 385, National Sojourners as Past President and Commander; Charter Life Member, Life Tennessee Forrest N0. 195; Life Member of Royal Order of Scotland; St. Stephens Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine; Buchanan Chapter No. 286, Order of the Eastern Star.

Sir Knight David’s spiritual background is as a member of the Baptist faith and been the member of Fatherland Baptist and Lakewood Baptist churches in Nashville. He is ordained as Lay Minister and served as assistant Pastor. He held positions of Youth Sunday Schoolteacher, and served various chairmanships within the church administration. With his move to Memphis in 2002 he moved his membership to Bellevue Baptist Church
